Royal Maid Game or Life Imitates Art Again
The Daily Mail, admittedly an unlikely source of lady-to-maid material, published excerpts from what it described as "aristocratic memoir", an upcoming book by Lady Anne Glenconner titled Lady in Waiting. As a prominent member of British aristocracy (her father was Earl of Leister and her mother was the daughter of Earl of Hardwicke), she was one of Queen Elizabeth's maids of honour at the 1953 coronation.
Needless to say a short chapter titled "The day Prince Philip asked me to dress as a maid!", accompanied by a 1949 photo, immediately caught my attention:
In 1949 my grandfather died, which meant that my father succeeded to his title, becoming the 5th Earl of Leicester.
I was 17 and Carey was 15, and we spent that summer cycling to the cinema in Wells-next-the-Sea twice a week with our mother. In the evenings Carey and I would go off to the local American aerodromes where the big bands would perform.
That same summer, the Duke of Edinburgh, who had married Princess Elizabeth in 1947 and often came to Holkham to shoot with my father, rang up my mother one day with an unusual request.

Almost back in the game!
Dear readers,
just wanted to drop a quick note to apologise for the recent lack of updates. Some of you wrote to me in the past weeks asking what was going on. Thank your for your interest. All is good, it's been a rather peculiar combination of work, travel, extended (make it very extended) home renovation and laziness. There is no need to worry and regular service will soon resume. I might as well party like it's 2017 and start updating three-four times a week again, but no promises there. It will definitely be a lot more frequent than this summer though.

Jackie J's Jenny story has three more chapter left that I hope to publish over the coming days after I am done editing them, followed by a very interesting lady-to-maid story by a completely new author. A couple of my books are on the backburner but again no hard promises. I will do my best to overcome a pretty severe case of writer's block, this I can promise.

A few housekeeping points: New Tags and Anonymous Comments
Dear readers,
I've finally found time to plough through this blog's labels and introduced several new ones to make it easier looking for stories that you like (and avoiding the ones you don't). It's been a very laborious process going through 350+ posts and I might have wrongly classified some of them - if anything strikes you as wrong, please drop me a line and I'll fix it. Also, if you have good ideas for tags I could add, please let me know. Among the new labels I've created are BDSM, body swap, magic, and weight gain.
As you might have noticed, Google's been fiddling with some of Blogspot's services as of late, essentially resetting email notifications due to the European Union's new data protection rules. So, if you haven't been getting notifications the past month like myself, you need to set them up again and then click the subscribe link. It really makes a difference if you are trying to track new comments or new posts. I've added a new e-mail notification widget to the right if you'd like to subscribe/re-subscribe.
On the subject of comments. Last thing I want to do is to restrict comments to members only (even though that means I have to manually delete spam), but could I possibly ask those of you that don't use their Google accounts to use the Name/URL function to comment? You can select any name you like and no registration is needed as far as I understand. Or, at the very least, if you insist on using "Anonymous" to comment, could you sign your messages? I really value the comments that you make but the fact that I often can't distinguish between dozens of different "Anonymouses" is infuriating. Blogspot's system that doesn't allow you to reply to second-level comments directly makes it even harder to track who said what and to whom. It gets really messy sometimes. Thank you for your understanding!

Two million page views!

Anyway, interesting results of the Lady-to-maid survey. Unfortunately there appears to be no way to publish them (or I couldn't figure out how) in an easy-to-see form, so let me just spell them out with my brief comments. Alternatively, you can see them yourself when/if you vote. For the rest of you here are the main takeaways (bold is how I voted myself):
What lady-to-maid scenario do you enjoy most?
I like it when someone forces it on the main character: 37.6%
Doesn't matter as long as the character ends up as a maid: 33.4%
It has to be voluntary, at least in the beginning: 29%
Relatively evenly spread between the three options, but a bit surprising my preferred option did noе win. For me a scenario where someone ends up stuck due to own stupidity/curiosity/bad luck is so much more powerful than when there is an evil protagonist playing with others' lives.
Does the story need to be as realistic as possible for you to enjoy it?

World's First Lady-to-Maid poll. We need your vote!
One of the readers had a wonderful idea to poll this blog's readers so that we know once and for all what is that most of us like and don't like in this peculiar genre. Please take a minute to fill out the form below. Really interested to see what results we get!

Happy New Year!
This has been a wonderful year for the Ladies Becoming Maids blog. It had the biggest amount of posts and visitors ever and December 2017 was the busiest month on record. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the writers that contributed their stories, all the commentators that shared their views as well as the silent majority of daily visitors that I can only see in my Google Analytics stats (yes, that also means you, the sole visitor from South Sudan in November, whoever you are!).
I know I keep saying it but it's worth repeating that I could have never imagined that my little hobby will attract such a following and I am still amazed by all the feedback in the form of e-mails and comments that I receive from you. Thank you for that and please don't stop - if it wasn't for your contribution, this blog would have fizzled out somewhere in 2015 at the latest. We are now entering 2018 and the lady-to-maid genre's prospects never looked better. If there is one thing I regret is that I could not devote more time to publishing more books - limiting myself to just two last year. We all know that New Year's resolutions are typically not worth much, but here I am: I promise to deliver more in 2018!
Happy New Year all! Thank you for everything.

Cleaner Preservation Project
Ever since Emma Finn's untimely departure, I've been checking her blog periodically - first daily, then weekly and then once in a while - in a hope that somehow more material from her will be posted there by whoever's in control of her archive. After all, she did mention herself that she'd made arrangements in this respect. Unfortunately, nothing was posted.
Cleaner, a story about a rich super model and her fat maid switching lives, is arguably the best transformation novel ever written and it pains me to realise that it will never be finished as intended by Emma. I do not know how much of it she did write but did not have time to share with anyone. It is not even clear if what's on her blog represents the entirety of Book 2 (it is 90,000 words after all!). In either case, I've decided to copy all of the chapters she made available and post them here. It is not inconceivable that her blog will go off-line one of these days and I would hate to see all this excellent material lost forever.
Needless to say, it's too huge to make a single post and it even exceeds blogspot's page size limits so I had to split Book 2 into two pages that I will link to the Library. Other than correcting (very few) obvious typos, the text is exactly as Emma left it even as it's obvious that she was making some plot changes mid-way and was planning to return and fix earlier chapters for consistency. It's taken a lot longer than necessary due to various formatting and linking problems (if any of you tech gurus know how to create a permanent page without either making it a blog post or adding it to the main page via a pages gadget, please let me know! I had to back-post it to 2016, but would much rather have a separate blogger page I can link to), but I believe the text is now in easy-to-read format for your enjoyment. You can read Chapters 1-3 here and Chapters 4-6 here.
I am assuming that many of this blog's readers are familiar with Emma Finn's work. If not, I urge you to get a copy of the Cleaner - I can't think of a better Christmas present! I recommend Book 1 of the unfinished trilogy, but if you want a completed shorter version, you can also read Cleaner: The Original Story. It's a very different take on the general plot as the trilogy went in a completely different direction but highly enjoyable nonetheless.

What I'm up to
Dear readers,
I wanted to apologise for the recent lack of updates and my departure from the self-imposed 1 post/2days schedule. I do hope to return with a lot more lady-to-maid content in coming days and weeks.
I must admit that I've been hit with a rather severe case of writer's block which derailed some of my abmitious publishing plans. Also, a number of my regular writers (no doubt during a secret meeting) decided to take long summer breaks at the same time.
Please do not worry. I don't think the well's dried up and there is a lot more where it came from. I do have a number of posts planned already and now it's only a matter of sitting down and writing them. Please watch this space for more stories and other lady-to-maid related content, including movie reviews and a rather long history of a traditional maid's uniform that I've been working on for a long time now.
As always, I really welcome your suggestions and submissions.

Mastering Social Media!
Dear readers, I need your advice please. You might have noticed that I've recently set up a Twitter account @CamilleLangtry - you can see the feed on the blog's right sidebar. I am still very new to this platform, still learning the basics, and would really appreciate any suggestions from those already established there as to who's worth following.
Are there any transformation-fiction related accounts that you know? Dear Emma Finn was there, but I am not aware of any other author of the genre with an active Twitter. Are there any transformation/downgrade/maid etc. groups that you know and follow? Perhaps I am not looking right, but I've been unable to locate that much... So, if you've got ideas, please share them here or drop me a line. I would really appreciate your help. And don't forget to follow me, of course. I am planning to use my Twitter for random pictures, thoughts, links and announcements.

One Million Pageviews!
I'd like to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions as well as for their e-mails. This blog would not have been possible without your feedback and contribution. Thanks for all the views in the past three years and here's to next 1 million views! With the recent boost in readership it should take a lot less than the first million.

Her Most Remarkable Performance is OUT!
After months of back and forth I've finally overcome my writer's block and published my e-book, Her Most Remarkable Experience.
I've spent more time on this novella than I probably should have both because of my inherent laziness and my tendency to over-research everything. I've read hundreds of pages on the 1880s - from fashion, shopping, and wages to music and theatre, not to mention household management and servants. A lot of the details in this book are as historically accurate as was possible and, if you are familiar with the period, you will have no difficulty recognising some of the situations, names and even occasional words and phrases. There are also literary references thrown around that I am not going to spoil for you.
This is the first book I've published and I hope you enjoy it. I've tried to write a definitive lady-to-maid story I personally could enjoy reading and it's only you, dear readers, that can judge if I've succeeded.
I have created a My Books folder on top, which I intend to update in coming months.
You can order the book from Amazon (e-book and paperback) and from Smashwords. Please leave a review if you like it and don't hesitate to contact me directly or leave comments here.

More Reading Suggestions From My Virtual Shelf
Partially thanks to feedback from subscribers to my newsletter (please sign up here if you haven't already), I've gotten quite a number of reading suggestions from you, dear readers. Therefore, I've decided to share them back with the crowd. I've really expanded my reading list in the past few weeks with new names and new themes in downgrade and social drop fiction. I'd also forgotten to add some good stories in my previous message so will add them here.
There is a treasure's trove of unread material still waiting to be discovered. Here are some that I liked that may interest you as well.
(Disclaimer: I may earn a small commission for any purchases you make via Amazon affiliate e-book links. Your purchase will help me support this blog. Or I can just buy myself a cup of coffee if a lot of you buy something).
The Peculiar Passions of Lady Mag: A reader pointed me to this classic tale about three 18th century English ladies-in-waiting sold as slaves to the colonies. "White slavery" in historic settings is one of my favourite topics so if you like such stories as well I can heartily recommend this vintage erotica tale. The first link is to the paperback edition if you want to hold it in your hands, the electronic Kindle version is available as Book 1 and Book 2 (affiliate links).
Voice Adjustment: Monica Graz has recently completed her old multi-part story Adjusting His Voice and published it via Mags Inc. I can't recommend anything done by Monica enough so if you are a fan as well, this is a must read.
The Rape of The Statue: A great Ophelia Press tale of voluntary social degradation. Set in 1950s Paris, this Marjorie Carthwright novel is about a young female student who choses life as a streetwalker. A good girl turned into a hooker is another trope that I enjoy so I couldn't miss this one. There is also something about classic erotica that is often irresistible! Another reader suggestion.

My favorite stories. TG Edition.

Here's a list of some of my favorites, both oldies and new ones I've recently discovered. Most are free, a few are ebooks you can purchase. (Disclaimer: I may earn a small commission for any purchases you make via Amazon affiliate e-book links. You purchase will help me support this blog.)
Little Brown Girl (affiliate link): this wonderful novel from Tom Tame was recently suggested to me by my Robyn Hoode. An aging business executive is transformed into a dark-skinned native girl and must serve his former wife as an immigrant servant maid. In a way, it is similar to Only A Baby Machine, which I've already recommended to my newsletter subscribers. The author's attention to psychological detail is impeccable. In short, this is one of the best maid and racial change stories I've read in recent years. Really well done.

Expanding My Horizons
Dear all,
Can I ask you what other transformation-related websites and blogs you frequent other than this one? I am currently trying to boost my link page and feel than I am only scratching the surface. There must be a lot of other blogs that I should be following that I don't. Do you have any reading and linking suggestions? What websites, blogs or forums do you check out regularly? Please share in the comments section or drop me a line.
And yeah, don't forget to sign up for my newsletter if you haven't already. Watch this space in coming weeks for more lady-to-maid content.

Happy New Year!

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a happy New Year. This has been a wonderful year for Ladies Becoming Maids blog, which was made possible by your valuable comments, interesting feedback and suggestions. Thank you very much for that.
Needless to say, 2016 was the best year for this blog in terms of readership and December was the best month ever by page views (+20% vs November 2016 and 3 1/2 times over December 2015 numbers). I've been trying to stick to the self-imposed 1 post/2 days schedule since early September and I am very pleased it has paid off, even though as times it was not an easy task to come up with ideas. Thankfully, participation from a number of readers and writers made this a lot easier. I have enjoyed communicating with all of you and hope the level of interest in this ratheer niche topic will only go up.
My plan for 2017 is to (finally) begin e-publishing my stories. I have several in various stages of completion currently so hopefully the first should be available in coming weeks. This is an experiment for me. If there is any interest, I'd be happy to share my self-publishing experiences after the fact. I might have missed the boat on this already, but I wouldn't know until I actually try.
I will also be devoting time to my newsletter, The first one came out earlier this week, the second one will be ready in a couple of days. If you haven't signed up yet, this is your chance! I am planning to make it a weekly thing. So, if you have any questions and ideas, please do not hesitate to e-mail me.
Once again, happy 2017 and thank you very much for reading my blog!

Mailing List
Dear all,
I've decided to set up a mailing list for this blog and added a Newsletter tab on top to sign up. I am devoting more and more time to what started as a simple hobby and plan to begin e-publishing stories relatively soon. So if you are interested in receiving regular updates from yours truly, please do sign up!
Consider this a marketing excercise as I try to determine how many fans I have. š

My favorites: Other Stories
While I am polishing the next chapters of Her Most Remarkable Performance, here is a selection of some of my favorite stories that don't involve maids, but feature other types of female transformation and themes of social and cultural drop. Much of this is pretty old so chances are, if you have been following the genre, you may have read some or all of them. Still, I wanted to share the list with you, partially to get your reactions and other reading suggestions. The list is far from complete and I am sure I've forgotten something I really liked that I've read over the years.
Transformations I like are slow, often self-inflicted, involve reduced status and happen due to stupidity or bad luck rather that someone's evil intent per se. Although, of course, there is nothing wrong with an occasional evil character destroying other people's lives. The stories on this list range from relatively mild and mostly psychological to nasty and brutal and most feature non-consensual stuff so please be warned. In no particular order:

Another Library Page Update

One recent lady-to-maid story that I really liked was published by Tcheser in his blog. It's called Hidden Shame an deals with themes of "makeunder" and role reversal as the protagonist goes from an arrogant beauty to a plain housekeeper to her former friend.
A reader pointed me to Akiko's Bodyswap Captions blog. One of the recurrent themes there is transformation into a maid. While anime is typically not my cup of tea, some of the content is pretty interesting for a lady-to-maid afficionado. Here is a recent example of the type of captions found there - Was I tricked?
Another reader reminded me of a lesbian domination video made a while back about a maid trading places with her mistress. Looks interesting. You can find it here.

Library Page Update
I've finally found time to update and rewamp the Library Page with new stories and numerous additional links. One new story I wanted to highlight in particular is Tetora's Maid in Her Image, a downgrade/role reversal story partially inspired by Emma Finn's unfinished epic novel Cleaner.
I am very pleased to see that the canon of lady-to-maid works is much bigger than it was when I started this blog. Are there any hidden gems that I haven't linked yet? Always eager to hear your suggestions, dear readers.
