Captions Sunday!

Three excellent new captions (short stories really) from a new contributor, Dolores Azul. Enjoy!

It Took All Her Brains—To Drop Down

Sylvia Morales had a big problem. Before they passed, her parents got to see Sylvia become a success in life: she dealt in real estate and the stock market (got to diversify after all) and became very wealthy—a multi-millionaire at age 28.

But success was the last thing Sylvia really wanted. Her desire to drop down the social ladder was difficult, but not impossible for a resourceful woman like herself. First she set up a dummy corporation to purchase office buildings. None of the business tenants were kicked out; in fact, they were offered slightly BETTER terms to stay if they used her maid service for cleaning. Then she set up another corporation: “Jiffy-Spiffy Maids”, and hired a good manager to run it.

Then, in a vacant apartment building she also bought, Sylvia looked up YouTube videos on how to houseclean “like a pro”. When she got good enough, she went to her manager to hire on at “Jiffy-Spiffy”, impersonating an illegal alien. By the time she sought work, Sylvia had put on enough pounds to be unrecognizable to the manager she hired but only met once! Looking too heavy to do the work, Sylvia begged the manager to let her clean one day—for free—to show she had what it takes...

Story: The Cleaner Returns. Chapters 43-46.

by BigBird74

We can all relate to that feeling of unease commonly referred to as our sixth sense. Perhaps it is a series of discreet signals picked up unwittingly over a period of time? Maybe it really is some form of extra-sensory perception, some invisible set of antenna that pick up a sense of danger? Whatever it is, Dahlia had first felt it as she finished her duties that night. As usual she had gone to the guest’s room that evening following the conclusion of her duties, only to find that the guest was no longer there. Disappointment rippled through Dahlia as the cheap thrill of playing maid and cleaner to the guest was denied to her. She found herself lingering in the room for far longer than she could reasonably explain, hoping that the missing woman would reappear and she could play the role of dutiful servant once more.

In the end it was only the appearance of Ms Nechita at the door that forced her to move on. The older woman motioned for Dahlia to leave and watched as the red faced and very fat cleaner eased her bulk past her and out of the room. The staggering extent of Dahlia’s transformation never ceased to amaze Ms Nechita. The doctor has told her to expect a significant amount of weight gain, but the reality was far in excess of anything they had thought possible. The professional inside of her winced a little at the numerous malpractices involved in their manipulation of the former supermodel, but the promise of a generous bonus had silenced her unsettled mind. No, Dahlia’s self-destruction was largely her own doing. She had convinced herself that she did not deserve all the gifts god had bestowed on her and all they had done was to open the door and show her the way. She watched as the former beauty turned and waddled slowly from the room, her fat thighs now starting to affect how she walked, making her rock a little from side to side.

Story: Miss Cassandra Fellows. Chapters 5-6.

by Jackie J

Chapter 5

Cassandra stayed in the room used for the role play for a good hour alone with her thoughts.

The Lockwood women had left her feeling vulnerable and unsure, what was she going to do. Bad enough that her working being a maid had been exposed, but more worrying, what had also come to light. The results from the evaluations presented to her did not lie and what the woman had said was true, she had no idea that she had presented a totally different profile from test to test. The two words that had rated the various evaluations sticking in her mind, Wolf and Sheep. Two totally opposing profiles chalk and cheese how could that be, how did she not know, how was she not aware of what she was doing and saying? The word strings that she had been shown, the core words that had been extracted, littered with weak, submissive words. Had this happened before whilst at work? This Lockwood woman suggested it could have, and why not, how would she know?

Cassandra racked her mind trying to remember deals that had gone wrong, had not met profitability targets, where she had been weak and malleable, a Sheep? She could not do that here she would need her files, client history. These triggers perhaps there are others how would she know. The feelings of vulnerability and uncertainty were changing to panic and fear.

Miss Lockwood, Evelyn, had offered to help, find the root of the problem, she had nothing to lose, had she? If a report were to be sent to the chairman now, outlining this exposed weakness, checks would certainly be carried out, would they find weak deals, bad deals her career would be over. She would need time to go through everything to check the contracts.

Back in her room Cassandra, having showered and changed, laid on her bed watching the clock tick towards four.

Sat in Miss Lockwood’s office Sandra was anxious to know what Evelyn had learned from the maid agency and what her plans for Miss Fellows were. Surely now they had the facts they would prepare a report for the Chairman of Hobson and Lloyd?

Evelyn pushed Professor Monroe’s paper on the subject of Dissociative Identity Disorder across her desk.

“I know you will have read this, be familiar with the subject. If this is the case with Miss Fellows, and I strongly suggest it is, I would like to conduct an experiment. Cassandra’s maid persona must be close to the surface, it has to be, to be triggered like it was. Miss Fellows executive persona is dominant and successfully supresses maid Cassie but, I will be interested to see, when Cassie is released and free, how she supresses Miss Fellows, Cassandra the executive. How close to the edge is that mental balance of power.”

Evelyn laughed.

Story: Miss Cassandra Fellows. Chapters 1-4.

by Jackie J

Chapter one

With Mrs Tutteridge’s uniform meticulously laundered and folded back into the case Cassandra showered and slipped into her long silk negligee and peignoir. Sipping on a glass of Prieur Montrachet she stared out over the city lights from the company’s penthouse apartment she enjoyed and chuckled reflecting on the week passed. Was it her high-pressure job, the power and control she held over others, perhaps the self-imposed loneliness of her lifestyle brought on by her failed Sapphic relationships, guilt at her significant wealth? Maybe it was just something within her? Whatever the root cause Cassandra had given up trying to reconcile why many years ago. All Cassandra knew was that whilst she could control it, she could not stop, she had tried many times it was like a drug. Even when she had moved cities, she could not help herself and found a way, there was always a way to appease her obsession always aware, no matter how fastidious her planning, that one day she could be exposed. What then? would she willingly, be subtly coerced or perhaps even be forced to offer up her total capitulation to her inner demons and secret supressed desires. For her part time pretence to become her reality, to be truly aproned and subjugated. Many restless dreams filled with such tempting imaginings.

Another glass of wine Cassandra, swathed in her fine silk, snuggled down on the sofa with her thoughts and chuckled reflecting on her latest experiences and to update her diary. A detailed log of all her past assignments and placements of her alter ego maid Cassie. Squirming with relish she noted the duties and the feelings they engendered within her along with other musings that fed her tortured soul.
