Story: A Lady?

L.E. shared the beginning of a very promising lady-to-maid story with an enticing and original premise. I am hoping there'll be more to it, love where it's headed!

A Lady?

by L.E.

Sir Ambrose Ruddenmore mounted the steps of Ackleigh House with some trepidation. A past president of the Royal College of Surgeons, he had had plenty of experience explaining matters of medical delicacy, but today was going to be quite unusual.

At the front door of the imposing London mansion, the butler greeted Sir Ambrose and efficiently led him to the salon where the Earl and Countess of Ackleigh awaited him. They were a handsome pair, both blue-eyed with blonde hair barely flecked with grey, narrow noses, slender hands. All four eyes were trained on him.

"Out with it, Sir Ambrose", the Earl said earnestly. "We can't be left on tenterhooks, your office said you had to call on us with news. Have you found a liver donor for Caroline?"

Lady Caroline Grandwood was to the extent they could make her so, the pride and joy of the Earl and Countess, for she was their only child; but she was also the bane of their existence. Most of the prestigious girls' schools in Britain had either expelled her or declined to admit her given her reputation, and she had lasted barely half a term at university before attempts to educate her had at last been abandoned.

Her preferred vocation, her primary talent, was voracious consumption of the most expensive top-shelf tipples, which was why she now needed a liver transplant.

Story: Lady Helen. Chapter 8.

Maria Donner wrote a follow up chapter to Jackie J's classic Lady Helen. Some of you asked about it in the comments section of Maria's debut L2M story so here it is, approved by Jackie J herself.

Chapter eight

Monique and Patricia never met at the big house. To Ellie she was employed in an official office, and as such not a friend of Patricia. Monique was anxious that the former lady Helen should smell a rat and start trouble. At some time Monique told Patricia that Ellie just might become a problem.

"What do you mean? Ellie seems housebroken now."

"That's what she seems, right. But - she's still potential trouble, a sleeping bomb. Imagine that she gets really sore. What could she do?"

"She can't do anything within the law. You, yourself, made sure of that."

"True. We have her over the barrel. But what if she resorted to something illegal?"

"Oh." Patricia had not considered that. "Do you have a suggestion?"

"Not yet. I have an idea, though. And if it turns out beautifully, I'm sure that you would be pleased."

"What's in it for you?"

Story: Veronica and Aunt Miranda. Chapter 12 and Epilogue.

by Jackie J

Mrs Ryder appeared at the end of the landing and walked slowly towards her two scrubbing maids, heads down backsides in the air and chuckled.

“Good work. Very good work.”

Mrs Ryder pointed at her new maid.

“You girl, come with me.”

Ronnie could hardly believe her Mistress was called a "girl", yet Lady Cornwall quickly got to her feet and meekly followed Mrs Ryder along the hallway towards the chambers.

Mrs Ryder stood in the doorway of Lady Cornwall’s private rooms whilst Jekaterina entered.

“Change the bed linen and towels and tidy this room. I expect it to be spotless when I return.”

Maid Jane was soon to work stripping the bed sheets and within the hour the room was looking pristine and impressed Mrs Ryder when she returned to inspect the work.

Story: Amy Campbell.

by Maria Donner

1 After the wedding

Louise and Gerald were now married - with the eager consent of all involved parents.

He was almost a decade her senior, but no-one had commented.

He was in his late twenties, she was twenty-one.

She was the daughter of a baron, and Gerald - as an only child - expected to inherit the title of Earl of Greystock and the mansion. That was in the future, however. His parents were still very much alive.

He got some money from his parents' estate, but their main income was his salary. He worked in a shipping transport company.

The first month they stayed with his parents; the mansion had plenty of rooms. And she had no problems with her parents-in-law.

During that month they had been looking for something suitable. They had visited several smaller houses open for rent. They had only been tempted once. The only thing standing in the way was that his commuting would be quite long - consequently wearing.

Then their luck turned. The present house they were looking at was - unfortunately - somewhat small by their standards.

"What do you think, Louise?"

"Hm. As far as your daily trip to London - no problem. The rent is not a problem either. As for help - a cook, a housekeeper, two maids. We should have no problems, if we could get a local cook, that is. We have only three rooms for the staff in the west end of the house."

The real estate agent had heard her remark. "I may know someone. Mrs. Hayden is looking for a suitable job. She's in her fifties and a widow. She lives close to here."

Story: Veronica and Aunt Miranda. Chapter 11.

by Jackie J

Having drawn her own bath and undressed Jekaterina stood naked in front of the large mirror in her bathroom and turned to view her reddened rump from her humiliating spanking by her housekeeper and sighed. Amongst the sloppy suds and foam of her bath Jekaterina stared at the maid’s uniform from which she had disrobed hung by the door considering the tantalising prospect of wearing it again but under the rules and conditions stipulated in the document prepared by her Housekeeper.

A few days, perhaps a week, well until the new maids were hired, which Mrs Ryder said was imminent anyway. Her mind drifted to those days long ago at Latchwood, her grandmother, Mrs Shipley and of course Mrs Robinson. It seemed a lifetime ago, a different life. She now lived a life of luxury and her maid Ronnie, Miss Veronica Singleton, was no less content in her new life than she in hers. Poor Ronnie! Having to do the work of three maids. She should have been here preparing her Mistress's bath, not slaving in the kitchens. The poor girl was struggling to cope on her own.

Mrs Ryder served dinner that evening and when questioned as to Ronnie’s whereabouts Jekaterina was informed the maid was catching up on her duties in the laundry and would be working late again.

The table cleared Mrs Ryder was asked to join her Mistress in the parlour.

Story: Veronica and Aunt Miranda. Chapter 10.

by Jackie J

Mrs Ryder’s head popped out of her office just as Jekaterina was walking down the hallway to the main staircase.

“Mistress, could we have a word please? Just a few minutes of your time.”

Jekaterina was anxious to strip out of the maid’s uniform and take a bath before dinner but agreed and stepped into Mrs Ryder’s office.

“Thank you. Please take a seat, Mistress.”

Jekaterina sat on the chair which was a little lower than her housekeeper's so she had to look up at her sitting behind her desk.

Mrs Ryder looked directly at her. Mistress this would be pivotal to her scheming.

“This is very awkward for me, Mistress. Embarrassing. I felt awful, Mistress, when you made me do what I did to you in the kitchen. You put me in a very difficult position in front of the maid, you made it that I had no choice but to do what I did. I don’t know why you made me do that but it was very wrong of you making your housekeeper spank you like that.”

Jekaterina looked up at her housekeeper. Was she serious? She was made tospank her bare bottom, was she really?

Story: Veronica and Aunt Miranda. Chapter 9.

by Jackie J

Mid afternoon following Jekaterina’s meeting with her housekeeper Ronnie was polishing the banisters of the rear staircase when she heard her Mistress's voice behind her and turning awkwardly on the stairs was mid curtsy when she froze.

“Mistress?”

Jekaterina chuckled at the expression on her maid’s face having seen her dressed like she was.

“Someone might think you hadn’t seen a maid before girl! A good fit, don’t you think? Mrs Ryder sorted it out for me. I cannot see you struggling on your own like this.”

“Come here, Ronnie.”

The two embraced and kissed then parted.

“Mistress, you shouldn’t. Look at you! Oh, Mistress ,you look like... You know, before at Lowercroft.”

Walking up to the half-landing at the turn of the stairway Ronnie stood back and admired her Mistress.

“Your uniform, it fits so well!”
