Story: Dr. Jackie and maid Hyde. Chapters 12-20 and Epilogue.

by The Yellow "M"

Chapter 12. An unexpected visitor.

In front of her, maid Hyde discovered Mrs. Smith, the wealthy CEO of a major cleaning company who had invested heavily in Dr. Jackie's research. Mrs. Smith, her face etched with a mixture of determination and menace, strode into the room. Her sharp eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of curiosity and determination. "Dr. Jackie," Mrs. Smith began in a stern voice, "you promised to develop the perfect aptitude test for cleaners and I'm here to ensure that your research continues unabated."

Maid Hyde's heart sank. She had hoped to distance herself from Dr. Jackie, to escape the pressures of her former life. But Mrs. Smith's presence was a stark reminder that others still considered her to be bound by Dr. Jackie's obligations. "But I'm not Dr. Jackie," maid Hyde protested weakly. "I don't know anything about her research."

Mrs. Smith's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing through maid Hyde's facade. "Don't play games with me," she hissed. "I know who you are, and I know what you're capable of. You're going to finish your research, or you'll regret it."

"With all due respect, Mrs. Smith," maid Hyde replied, her voice firm despite the tremor that laced it, "That is not going to happen. I am just a maid, not a Doctor. I don't know anything about genetics. I can't resume Dr. Jackie's research."

Story: Dr. Jackie and maid Hyde. Chapters 1-11.

This story initially appeared in the comments section in response to a comment from an anonymous reader. The author, Yellow M, ended up writing one of the most original lady2maid stories in recent memory that deserves its own post. Here are the slightly revised first chapters of "Dr. Jackie and maid Hyde." The following 11 chapters and the epilogue completing this story will be published shortly.

Story: Dr. Jackie and maid Hyde.

by The Yellow "M"

Chapter 1. The scientist.

Dr. Jackie was a leading geneticist. She was doing research about the gene of cleanliness, even though she completely lacked that quality herself. To tell the truth, Dr. Jackie was a complete slob who constantly needed other people to clean her mess. She had employed many maids over the years, but all of them found working for her hard, ungrateful and scary. It had now been several week since Dr. Jackie's last maid fled in terror after a failed experiment that nearly blew up the lap. And since then, Dr. Jackie had been unable to find a new maid.

Without a maid, the messiness of the lab had become so extreme that Dr. Jackie couldn't continue working on her experiments. Her research had grinded to a complete halt. As a result, Dr. Jackie couldn't deliver the interim report she promised to the investor who was financing her research. The investor had complained and threatened to end her financing. Dr. Jackie's whole research was in jeopardy.

Dr. Jackie had even tried to clean her own lab, but to no avail. The cleanliness gene was recessive and completely inactivated in her. As a result, all her attempts at cleaning only made things even more messy. But if nobody was willing to clean the lab for Dr. Jackie and if she couldn't do it herself, what was to be done?

Story: From Alpha Female To Submissive

By Peter242

Samantha was thirty-eight and a senior executive in a finance company. Initially, she loved the job, but now, even though she was one of the most senior people in the office, she hated the pressure of the job and the responsibility.

Hannah was Samantha's assistant. She was twenty-four but was proving herself to be exceptionally good. She was happy to take on more and more responsibility and was even starting to go to client meetings by herself and was proving to be successful in obtaining new business for the company.

Samantha took Hannah out for lunch to discuss how things were going. It was over that lunch when Samantha had probably had a couple of drinks too much and started to open up about her desire to wind down. "The stress is really getting to me, Hannah," Samantha said. She then added, "I can never wait to get home and wind down."

Hannah asked because she was interested, "Tell me, Samantha, how do you wind down?"

Story: The Job Interview. Part 4.

By Inanimate77

Amy was a little out of breath when she arrived at her new job. Looking down at her phone she noticed that she had just made it with about two minutes to spare. The college student took a moment to collect herself before ringing the doorbell.  While this might not be her dream job, she certainly did not want to make a bad first impression.

Once she had caught her breath, Amy rang the doorbell. Although Amy's things had already been moved into her room, her employer had insisted on this formality. It was supposed to signify the formal change in their relationship - the moment in which Susan officially became Amy's employer.

As Amy waited by the door, she had a brief moment of panic when she realized that she had not put the apron and cap back on. A flurry of activity quickly ensued as she frantically tried to fix her appearance before her new employer arrived at the door.

She had just managed to finish tying her apron when Susan opened the door. "You're right on time girl. I like punctuality in the help."

Amy was so discombobulated from her mad dash over that she didn't unpack what had just been said. She responded, "I’m ready and excited to get started.”

"Ma'am," Susan replied.

"Pardon?"

"I’m ready and excited to get started, Ma'am." Susan scolded her new employee. "You're in my service now. I will not tolerate any informality."

Story: Real life experience: My Summer Job. Parts 5-6.

by Melissa

Part 5. The VIP guest

The next day, I was about to start my first shift when Miss Davis, my supervisor, suddenly approached me.

"Girl," she said, "I need to talk to you."

"Of course, Miss Davis," I replied.

"I noticed your uniform is a little dirty," she said. "I think it's time you changed it."

"Yes, Miss Davis," I replied.

"I've just put out a clean uniform for you in the laundry room. You can go there, iron the new uniform, change and leave the dirty uniform in a basket. Then, when you have time after your last shift, I want you to come back to the laundry room and clean your dirty uniform."

I went to the laundry room and found a fresh new uniform hanging on the wall. I ironed it and put it on, taking care to shine my shoes and put on a new apron. I then left my old uniform in a basket and returned to Miss Davis.

"I've finished changing, Miss Davis," I said.

"Good girl," Miss Davis replied. "Now, I need you to start in Room 7 and clean it thoroughly. We have a VIP guest arriving later today, and I want to make sure the room is perfect. And don't forget to leave a welcome basket with fruit and snacks in the room."

"Of course, Miss Davis," I replied. "I'll get right on it."

I went to room 7 and started cleaning. I dusted the furniture, vacuumed the carpet and made the bed. Then I cleaned the bathroom, scrubbed the tub and toilet. I also changed the sheets and towels. When I'd finished, I turned around to check the room. It was spotless. I then placed a welcome basket of fruit and snacks on bed the room. I even added fresh flowers in a vase. Miss Davis came to check the room and, apart from a few stains of dirt I hadn't noticed in the bathroom, she didn't criticize my work. She even nodded approvingly when she saw the flowers.

Story: Real life experience: My Summer Job. Parts 3-4.

by Melissa

Part 3. First day at work

My supervisor, Miss Davis, first took me to the laundry room and told me to take a cleaning cart. It had been prepared and contained everything I would need to clean the rooms. As I pushed the cart behind her, Miss Davis explained, "Now, girl, let's discuss our cleaning standards. The rooms must be spotless. No dust anywhere. Sheets must be changed whenever necessary and towels must be fresh. And the bathroom must be cleaned."

"I understand, Miss Davis," I said.

"Now let's go to your first room," said Miss Davis. She led me to a room and said, "This is room 03. It's been occupied by a guest, so it's been used before. But you must clean it again to our standards."

"Yes, Miss Davis," I replied.

"Now, if there's no 'Do Not Disturb' sign visible, knock on the door, say 'Cleaning Service' and wait for the reply. If you're invited in, enter the room, greet the guest and ask if you can clean the room. If there is no answer, take the master key, open the door and start cleaning the empty room."

I went to room 03 and knocked on the door. No one reacted, so we went in. The room was empty and I started to clean. Miss Davis watched me intently.

"You're not doing it right, girl," Miss Davis told me. "You're not using enough elbow grease."

"I'm sorry, Miss Davis," I said, "I'll make an effort."

I cleaned the room again, this time with more effort.

Story: Real life experience: My Summer Job. Parts 1-2.

by Melissa

Author's note: the following is the account of a real-life experience I had during my 2023 summer vacation. Most names and some details have been changed to protect the privacy of those involved. The location is also left deliberately vague for the same reason.

Part 1. The arrival.

For my husband and me, the latest months had been stressful at our respective jobs and we were really looking forward to a real summer break. My husband, especially, was on the verge of burnout and really needed a radical change to recharge his batteries. I had therefore booked a room in a small old-fashioned hotel in the middle of the forest. I did chose that place, because it was advertised as being without neither internet nor mobile network and seemed therefore perfect for a social media detox. We had booked for a three-week stay.

On the way to the hotel, we took a wrong turn at a crossroads and quickly got lost. We were supposed to come before 8 p.m., but it was pretty obvious that we were not going to make it in time. I took my mobile phone and called the landline of the hotel.

"Good afternoon, Forest Hotel, this is Linda." Linda Roberts was the manageress of the hotel I had already been in contact with her for the booking.

"Good afternoon Linda, this is Melissa Brown", I said, "I have booked a room for my Husband and me. We are on our way, but we took a wrong road and are going to be late. We probably won't make it before 9 p.m."

"That's quite all right, Mrs Brown, I will wait for your arrival. Don't worry."

"Thank you Linda. I hope it won't be an inconvenience."

"Not at all, Mrs Brown. I'm glad to be of service."

When we finally arrived in front of the hotel, it was around 10.30 p.m. We quickly parked the car and went inside to check in. Linda, the manageress, was waiting for us. We could see she was disabled, because she sat in a wheelchair.

Story: Imposter Syndrome. Chapter 4.

by Jackie J

Jen could not be sure how long it had been, the memories seemed rather distant, but strangely, also quite recent. Hard for her to believe that she ever lived such a tainted existence. Having to hide away, feeling wretched about herself. Jen still had the dreams, but less and less. Dreams of living in luxury but not deserving any of it, living in fear of being discovered, sometimes it seemed so real, like she was another person. Jen knows that is why she had to be conditioned, and that before her conditioning, Jen was pretending to be someone she wasn’t. Jen did not know how she knew that, but she did.

Thankfully under the care of Doctor James, and her conditioning by Miss Ruskin, those destressing delusions have all but disappeared and Jen knows those dreams to be just that, dreams, and nothing more.

It is all quite vague for Jen, and she doesn’t like to think about it, but her life was very different before she came to work for her Mistress, at least she thinks it was, Jen gets confused about it all, and is not really sure. Miss Ruskin tells her that all she needs to know is that she deserves to be one of her maids and that she shouldn’t worry about anything else. Miss Ruskin tells Jen what to do, when to do, and how to do everything, which is good, because Jen gets very nervous and unsure quite a lot.

Being a cleaner was hard at first, but Jen knew that it was all she deserved to be, Miss Ruskin always reminding her of that. Jen is now a housemaid and knows that she deserves to be one of her Mistresses housemaids. Jen was a good cleaner, and now she must be a good housemaid for Miss Ruskin and her Mistress, and she will be.

Story: The Job Interview. Part 3.

by Inanimate77

Although it had been a couple days since Amy had traveled to Stich n'Time to get fitted for her maid uniform, things had begun to move quickly. Amy had met Susan for lunch where she revealed all the documents that she needed to sign. It seemed a bit much at the time, but Susan had assured Amy that the paperwork was necessary given it was a live-in position. The inch thick pile of papers required her to sign over 20 times during their lunch.

Susan did not rush Amy and encouraged her to read through the documents but after reading through the fourth or fifth page of legal mumbo jumbo, Amy just started signing things. It was enough to make her brain hurt. The college student justified her actions by the simple fact that she was out of options. Her lease was up and she needed to move out now or risk having her landlord throw her stuff out on the street. Susan's patience and professionalism provided her with a lot of comfort.

That trust seemed well placed when the next day movers showed up at Amy's apartment to pack up her things and get them over to Susan's home. They only left her with a few basic necessities to make it through the next few days before her official start date. Susan did not feel it was appropriate to have Amy living in her home until she started working.

The day before Amy was to start she received several texts from Susan with instructions. She expected Amy to arrive and begin working at noon the next day. Amy's employer also mentioned that Amy could come by in the morning to drop off the remainder of her things. The final text from Susan informed Amy that she had an appointment with the seamstress at 10:00 in the morning to pick up her uniforms.

Story: The Job Interview. Part 2.

by Inanimate77

A day had passed since Susan had interviewed Amy for the housemaid position and the college junior was having second thoughts. Although her options were pretty limited, she felt the whole idea of working as a housemaid demeaning. Unable to sleep much, Amy had gotten up early and spent the last several hours scanning every source she could find for job opportunities that would meet her needs.

There were plenty of jobs out there. That was not the problem. The challenge was two fold. She really needed flexibility. School was unpredictable. There would be nights she needed more time to study. Her class schedule also changed every couple of months. That problem was manageable. The bigger issue, however, was the lack of housing. The Boston housing market was really tight. With her limited credit history and negligible income, no respectable landlord was going to offer her a lease. Unless Amy was open to living in a bad neighborhood far from school her options were pretty limited

The longer she searched the more determined Amy became to find a way out of the situation, but so far a solution eluded her. Just before lunch Amy's phone buzzed with a text. The message indicated that Amy had an appointment at Stitch n'Time to be fitted for her uniforms. It appeared that despite her best efforts things were beginning to move forward.

Story: The Job Interview. Part 1.

by Inanimate77

This was not the job that Amy had expected to get when she went away to college, but that didn't matter at the moment. The 21 year old junior didn't have an internship and was completely out of cash. To make matters worse, her lease was up and she didn't have a place to live. She really needed this job whether she wanted to do it or not. That was how she found herself at the doorstep of the large home inquiring about a live-in housemaid position.

The advertisement highlighted several key benefits which appealed to Amy. First the hours were flexible which was critical to the college student. Amy needed a job that would work with her college class schedule. However, even more important to Amy was the fact that the job was a live-in position. It included free housing and given her current apartment situation that was very appealing.

Ringing the doorbell, the business major was not sure what to wear and had picked something out that was probably more appropriate for an interview with a corporation, not a potential employer looking for a maid.

As she stood at the doorstep, Amy nervously fidgeted with her skirt, trying to smooth out the wrinkles. She took a deep breath and looked at herself in the reflection of the door's peephole. Her long curly hair was tied up in a bun, and she had put on some minimal makeup to look more presentable.

The woman who answered the door appeared to be in her early 30s. She had brown hair that was pulled back in a ponytail and piercing green eyes. While Amy was dressed quite formally, her potential employer was wearing a baggy t-shirt and a pair of designer leggings. She gave Amy a strange look, "Hello can I help you?"

The woman's reaction made Amy even more nervous. "Um... hi, I'm Amy. I'm here for the 2:30 interview."

Story: Imposter Syndrome. Chapter 3.

By Jackie J

After their extended break, financed by the famous Jennifer Forbes of course, the household staff had all returned to maintain the upkeep of Doctor James’s residence, two housemaids and the cook.

Jen was now restricted to the top floor for the completion of her maid training, the top floor, being isolated and retained for patients staying at the Doctors residence for specialised treatments. Off limits for the domestic staff. The room Jen now occupied much nicer than her previous accommodation. Gone the old clothing and only two high quality cleaning smocks remained. Jen’s closet now boasting smart, indeed pretty maid’s dresses, these to be worn for formal events, and smart skirts and blouses for general wear. Her underwear although plain fitted well. Stockings and smart low-heeled shoes along with lace trimmed aprons and tiara caps completed this new maid’s workwear.

Jen deserved her promotion from cleaner to housemaid, Miss Ruskin had told her she did. and if she worked hard and trained well, she would soon be working in the household proper. Jen had no thoughts other than her duties and the new skills she must learn to be a perfect housemaid. Jen had been given selected illustrated literature to study, concerning maids work, and from her low base of cleaner, she had admired the pictures of the smartly dressed maids.

Jen had been looking forward to her first day wearing her new uniform, but Olga found her sad with evidence of tears staring into the dressing table mirror.

“What is wrong Jen, tell me.”

The Lady of the House

by AndiJF

"You not get away with this! You trick me to meet all the local lady in this uniform, but I the mistress of the house, and you just my maid!"

"My dear, now they have seen you as a maid, no one here will ever believe that you, an Oriental, are anything more than my servant, or that I, a white woman wearing your elegant and expensive clothes, could not be your mistress. Just look in any mirror if you doubt me. I think we’ve found our proper roles in life at last!

Zhou Lusi, an educated but orphaned Chinese girl, met and fell in love with an older English trader, James Cavendish. Eventually, they married, and Lusi took the name Lucy Cavendish, but their happy life was shattered when the chaos of the Boxer Rebellion erupted. James decided to leave China with Lucy, taking her English maid Abigail with them. More tragedy struck when James died of a heart attack on the voyage to England, and Lucy found herself alone in a foreign land, speaking little English, with only her maid for support, but Abigail secretly resented and schemed against her mistress.

Story: Imposter Syndrome. Chapter 2.

by Jackie J

Chapter 2

Taken back to the room, that she had been told would be her own, Miss Ruskin left Jen to her thoughts, on the assurance that she would be back shortly to supervise her first day a cleaner at Doctor James’s residence.

Jennifer sat on the bed not knowing whether to laugh or cry at the absurdity of her situation. She had been told there would be role play, but this?  Jen, she was to be Jen a cleaner. Being told to strip like she had, and actually doing it in front of Samantha, Whoops, Mistress, my Mistress? Really?  This Ruskin woman, she was odd when I arrived, a brute of a woman, no messing with her for sure.

Jennifer inspected the plainly decorated en suite room she had been allocated, basic and small. A shrug of the shoulders and a wry smile looking in the closet and drawers. What did she expect? Plain underwear, and an assortment of unfashionable and well-worn clothing was all she found. Jennifer ran her fingers across the fabric of the cheap nylon overalls, that hung on a rail by the bathroom door and inhaled their industrial scent. The odour filling her senses, Jennifer felt that same comforting calm and humbling weakness she had felt earlier with Doctor James, her Mistress. The temptation was too great, and having taken it from the end of the rail she stepped into the primrose overall and fastened the large buttons. Roomy, long sleeved with its hem to her lower calf, Jen reached for one of the turbans from the rail and knotted it in place. Having volunteered herself into her workwear and staring into the wall mirror she hardly recognised herself. Jennifer, filled with a not unpleasant numbness, stumbled back to the bed, and sat down heavily with panting breath.

Calming a little, she smiled to herself, “Conditioning”, my goodness, whatever this conditioning is it is working on me. The feelings she had just experienced, staring into the mirror, the same, although more so, more real than those she had felt earlier in the room with Doctor James. In that moment, much like before, she was Jen, accepted she was Jen it was Jen the cleaner that stared back at her. Fleeting, those feelings and emotions may have been, they were liberating, intoxicating and desirous.

Jennifer had not lost touch with reality, not yet she knew who she was, but being Jen, a cleaner, was such a safe place wasn’t it, and all she deserved, Doctor James had told her that. Doctor James was her Mistress now, odd but the connotations of that title, Mistress, of ownership, of being owned offered its own yet complimentary sense of sanctuary, a safe and welcome sanctuary away from the judgemental criticism, imagined, perceived or actual.

Story: Imposter Syndrome. Chapter 1.

By Jackie J

Leaving the offices of leading psychiatrist and psychotherapist Doctor James, Jennifer was relieved in some way, but also a little perturbed. With her Trench coat belt fastened, its collar up, dark glasses in place and a headscarf tugged tight, Jennifer was confident that no one would recognise her whilst she made her way back to the car that she had rented. She couldn’t have risked arriving in her own car, with its personalised number plate. Her easily recognised car, parked outside London’s renowned psychiatric clinic, would inevitably lead to awkward questions by the seemingly ever present and eager paparazzi. Miss Jennifer Forbes, known to millions, to be the confident and assertive consumer champion, who graced their television screens twice weekly, was in fact, suffering a crisis of identity, of self-worth and self-doubt, to believe herself undeserving of all she was, and all she had.

Things had come to a head, following the publication of a critical article in the media by the reviewer Connie Black. Jennifer had already been, whilst she hid it well, emotionally distressed for weeks. She had to do something, and she had, visiting the highly regarded doctor, Samantha James.

Now at least she had a name for what she was suffering from, but a cure? She would of course follow what Miss James had told her to do, before she was to return the following week, but failed to see how this would help.

Sat in the small rental car Jennifer could not fully relax. She would not feel secure, safe even, until she was back in her apartment, it never used to be like this. Outgoing and friendly, she welcomed publicity, meeting people on the streets who recognised her but, since the judgemental article by Connie Black, all that changed. Used to being an ever present on the social scene, now reluctant to accept invitations. Only attending the most special of occasions, and even then, fearful of betraying her true feelings and emotions, rarely staying long.

Story: The Humbling of Isabel Kinley

By Jane H. Aubrey

The doorbell rang. Isabel was upstairs, listening to loud music, listlessly doing her homework. Kate went to answer it; she wore a neat grey sweater with the sleeves rolled up, a calf-length floral skirt, and a smart, freshly ironed hunter-green apron. It was Tom. ‘Good evening, sir,’ she beamed, and he gave her a long kiss before she helped him out of his coat and hung up his scarf. He sat on the sofa in the living room and Kate brought a tray with a glass of red wine, before kneeling down and carefully taking off his shoes, which she would clean and buff later. Then she looked up at him and waited, peacefully. He unzipped his fly and Kate took him in her mouth, keeping her hands neatly folded behind her back as Tom preferred, while he sipped his wine. After she had brought him off, she kneeled back; ‘Thank you, sir. May I do anything else for you?’

‘No, darling. Just get on with dinner.’
