A Maid Life tumblr  has quite a number of interesting lady-to-maid captions done by @retroeverything, inspired by a reader of this blog, Qing Luan, who's kindly given me permission to share them here. Very familiar themes, love it! The employment contract at the bottom I found particularly exciting.

Ayi knelt and waited for master to appear. He had let her in wordlessly at the door and just pointed to the stairs leading to her quarters. Or what had been her quarters. Now she didn’t know. Now she waited.  A month before at the end of her first year they had offered her a new contract to sign. She had been allowed a day to sign it. She had read it before falling asleep that night . 

The old contract for her first year had been negotiated before she had come to Master and Mistresses academy to become a maid. Back when she had been a person who thought she wanted to be a maid. It listed the things ‘maid’ wouldn’t do and allowed her the option to quit at any time. To hold her own passport and documents. To have her own bank account. To chose her maid name…  

The new one amended all that. A lot. Spankings as a punishment instead of extra duties. She knew they’d work her so hard that she’d beg for spankings instead of extra work. She knew that after a while she’d treat spanking as perfectly normal for a dumb maid. 90 days notice if she wanted to quit. Her papers and passport to be held by master and mistress. Her funds to be transferred to a trust watched by the Academy who would provide her a debit card in her maid name. Some of her wages would go to it so she could buy her toiletries, underwear and other sundries with the academy’s approval. Unapproved items would earn punishments.  

It was just too much control. She had been doing well. She earned few punishments. Suzy the 2nd year maid would get a percentage of her punishment to ensure she corrected her behavior, more if she wasn’t the one to spot it. Suzy had been allowing her to work without constant oversight for the past 3 months. Her punishments had often been more work till she was working 20 hour days. The utter exhaustion made her make more errors till she learned to think of nothing other than her maid duties to dig herself out of her punishment cycle. Now she could work for days without a thought in her head other than her duties. The only thoughts the instructions given to her at the start by phone message. 

Days would go without an actual person speaking to her face to face. Just impersonal instructions left as tasks. Maid Suzy telling her in whispers quicker ways to do tasks. Showing her if she was slow on the uptake. The exhaustion she felt every day left her dazed and dumb. She never could get used to the constant drudgery. Interrupted a few times a day to take over maid Suzy’s tasks while she dealt with Master and Mistress directly face to face.  Sleeping at night listening to mistresses lessons on perfecting her chinese maid accent. So tired she had no resistance in her and had learned quickly to speak to her betters in a broken chinglish.  

So she had left. Taken her small bag of possessions to the cheap hotel Mistress organised for her. There she had tried to get her old life back on track.  There she learned her mistake. She no longer looked like her official photo id. The weight loss and constant manual labour had changed her. Mistresses hypnosis and training had given her a pronounced Chinese accent. 

A part of her hoped that would wear off if she could get back home. But she couldn’t face home looking and sounding as she did. What did that leave? Working in some menial job with no id she could use without a lot of awkward questions. She had tried, she really had. She ended up working maids shifts in 3 hotels. It was all she knew how to do. The super long days she had pulled at the academy made the hotel shifts easy. But then she didn’t have to travel far. Now a few hours were spent mindlessly on public transport travelling between her room and the hotels her shifts were at. 

Even with that free time she found she couldn’t enjoy literature any more. She found herself gravitating to cheap romance novels with maids in it. She honestly didn’t know if that was mistresses programming or her perverted imagination look for worse ways to be  treated.

After a few weeks of that she realized she wasn’t going home. Home was gone. Home was now some maids quarters in some rich persons big house. Taking orders, obeying, serving. The more indifferently they treated her the happier she was. She had to find the best position she could. The hotels were dangerous. Drunk men who thought a lowly maid was fair game. Security were good but she felt it was only a matter of time before something very bad happened… So that meant crawling back to this position. That meant begging and grovelling for her job back. That meant signing any agreement they put in front of her. That meant thanking them for renaming her maid Molly. A name easier for her betters to pronounce but now oh so difficult for her. And she suspected with mistresses help it was never going to get easier…

“Ayi!” The roar reverberated through the house. Normally the house was a quiet sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the outside world but her absence was noticed and worse sir sounded cross. 

Under normal circumstances sir would ring a small bell and it was her job to put aside whatever she was doing and as silently as possible be at his side for orders within two minutes. She had in last year become quite proficient. At first she had taken as long as four or five minutes to put aside whatever domestic task she was busy with and get to his side. That had earned punishments. Lots of them. She’d loved feeling the glow on her backside as she rushed to complete her tasks. It made her feel… useful, just the lowest of the low, bottom of the heap. That the only use for a stupid girl like her was to be the maid. To dumb for a proper job, too untrustworthy for a job with responsibility. Only happy when scampering around doing the bidding of her betters. But now she had her Monday morning early morning spanking. She hated her Monday spanking. It was the worst. Not the pain, sir was very good and skilled and left her the most colourful bruises that she felt for days with every movement, to remind her of her duties and place. She was proud of her bruises. But by Friday they would have faded to nearly healed. She wondered for the umpteenth time what was wrong with her to need this level of degradation to be inflicted on her to not crave far worse abuse. The need for punishment. The need for humiliation. 

But then she had found sir. Sir was the most wonderful dom she had ever met. Sir humiliated her. Degraded her. Punished her. He drew out every fantasy she ever had and allowed her to play them out. He learned her limits and while he sometimes came close, he never crossed them. He used hypnosis and drugs to unlock her mind. Shaped her, moulded her and made her the ditzy dumb little maid she had once only seen in her darkest fantasies. She’d spend all her time without a single thought of her own rattling around her silly head. Only sirs thoughts were allowed. Well orders and rules, not really thoughts. And she was so glad when there was only those. None of her own to get her in trouble. But now it was Monday, the end of another weekend of service. Her Monday spanking was her hypnotic trigger to wake the smart girl and put her in charge again. She’d have to get changed and head to another boring week in the lab of work using her silly brain. Sir said one day soon he’d allow her to quit that job and get a full time job as a maid in a hotel nearby. Then she could work a long days as a maid followed by her life in sirs service. It would be a lot of work for little to no pay… She couldn’t wait… She sighed and walked inside to accept her fate and her punishment. Her last few minutes as a maid were up… Till next weekend she’d have to endure another week of horrible freedom..

Ayi sat in her hutch and did her lessons. Conversational Mandarin Chinese. It was the closest thing she had to a ticket out of here. The other girls Japanese and Chinese really helped her.  If she could get good enough to fool a mainland Chinese national for 30 minutes of conversation then maybe, just maybe she could earn safe passage home to the USA with a false identity. Going home on her own passport was not an option. Charges had been filed and quite a number of police forces around the world were keeping an eye open for her. Seemingly there was quite a reward for information leading to her arrest. She’d done nothing wrong but in these matters ‘evidence’ spoke louder than the truth. She had no idea who had created it or why. Only that if she was sent home she’d be looking at decades in prison.But she was smart. Or at least she used to think so. She thought maybe if there groups smuggling people into the USA she so often heard about then perhaps some of them might be able to smuggle her out. And she had found someone. They had arranged for her to end up in Japan working in a maid cafe. Using a purchased id of a peasant Chinese girl. She was working illegally of course. If found she could get deported to mainland China. She so wanted to avoid that. She wanted to avoid going back to USA under her old identity. But China the other girls whispered when they got a chance was far worse. What did that leave her?  She’d been told that if she adopted the Chinese persona she was playing well enough to pass id checks she might be able to get back to America as a lowly immigrant. Maybe if she got that far she could find a way to undo all the false charges against her.Till then she had to study and learn to be the perfect Japanese maid during the day. To learn to be the perfect Chinese peasant outside work hours. Working long hard hours with a silly smile on her face. There just didn’t seem to be time left to be her anymore. English speaking customers in the cafe today had spoken too fast for her to follow. Her English was definitely getting worse. She had to get out of here as soon as she could.That just meant more study. Of Chinese language, customs and history. Of Japanese language, customs and history. At this rate when she got to America she’d have to learn English all over again… If she had the time while trying to start out at the very bottom. The lowest of the low, the dumb chink maid every one would see her as instead of who she used to be. If she were lucky. Oh she so hoped she was lucky.

8. Indenture of Servitude

What will follow in the next few posts is simultaneously the most exciting and frightening thing I’ve ever toyed with.  These are actual documents, exchanged between different parties, not something I just made up.

First is a contract, drawn up, so I’m told, by an actual lawyer who is a sub of the lady in question.  This was created by the wealthy NY couple I’ve referred to before that I met online, made for my maid alter ego.  I wanted to sign it so much…and that both terrifies and excites me.

                                                                Indenture of Servitude

Attn: qing luan:

The following sets forth the terms and conditions on which you (the “Indentured Servant”) will act as a household servant for me (the “Employer”) for the period of time set forth in this indenture and letter agreement (this “Agreement”):

1. Role and Title. The Indentured Servant hereby agrees to act as a household maid as part of the household staff of the Employer at each of the locations owned by the Employer referenced above (the “Premises”), and the Indentured Servant hereby submits herself to perform whatever tasks and duties that the Employer (or her assigns) deems fit to assign to the Indentured Servant in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion. The Indentured Servant hereby agrees to bear the title of any particular designation that the Employer may deem to assign to the Indentured Servant in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion, including, but not limited to, “maid”, “scullery maid”,”slave”, “dog bones” or “house-girl”. At all times, the Indentured Servant shall wear a  tag indicating that the Indentured Servant is the “property indentured under a debt to” the Employer, and shall identify herself as such. This name tag will be visible and the Indentured Servant shall promptly present the tag for inspection by all interested parties.

2. Term of Agreement. The term of relationship between the Employer and the Indentured Servant shall begin upon the date of the Indentured Servant’s execution of this Agreement (and initialing every individual page hereof) and shall extend to the Termination Date (defined in paragraph 12 below).

3. The Debt. The Indentured Servant hereby agrees that the Indentured Servant shall be unconditionally liable to the Employer for all amounts owed by the Indentured Servant to the Employer (without any rights of offset, diminution, counterclaim, defense or condition of any kind or nature whatsoever) pursuant to the terms of this Agreement (the “Debt”), and the amount of the Debt shall bear interest at a rate of 33% per annum, compounded in arrears , provided that, in the event that the Indentured Servant is in default under this Agreement, the Debt shall bear interest at the rate of 50% per annum, compounded  in arrears. The Indentured Servant shall have no right to cure any such default and the Indentured Servant shall remain in default for the pendency of the term of this Agreement. The amount of the Debt shall be computed by accountants of the Employer, in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion and, on the first Monday of each month for the term of this Agreement, the Indentured Servant will be presented with a memorandum setting forth the amount of the Debt and will certify in writing her agreement to the amount of the Debt at such time. Under applicable law, the Indentured Servant will be considered a “debtor indebted to the Employer bound for all amounts owed plus interest”. As such, the Employer will enjoy all rights and privileges of that designation and the Indentured Servant shall suffer all penalties and consequences of such designation under applicable law. The Indentured Servant may be released from the terms of this Agreement upon 1) payment in full of the Debt (including all compounded interest thereon) and 2) the Employer’s satisfaction with the services provided by the Indentured Servant, the Indentured Servant’s compliance with the terms of this Agreement as well as the Indentured Servant’s strict adherence to all protocols hereof, in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion. The Employer hereby reserves the right to impose any other conditions to the Indentured Servant’s release from, and under, the terms of this Agreement, as the Employer may elect to impose in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion.

4. Compensation. As compensation for the performance of her duties under this Agreement, after the Probationary Period (as defined in paragraph 9 hereof), the Indentured Servant shall receive a salary of $2.72 per hour, subject to approval of hours worked by the Employer, in her sole and absolute discretion as provided below. In addition, after the Probationary Period, the Indentured Servant shall receive a stipend of $25.75 per month to purchase toiletries and hygienic items, provided that, the Indentured Servant provides Redacted with a precise  accounting of all such purchased items. The Indentured Servant shall also receive reimbursement for all verifiable, documented and reasonable out of pocket costs incurred by the Indentured Servant in the scope of her duties, provided that, the Employer shall make the decision to reimburse the Indentured Servant for such expenses in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion and shall not be bound to remit such reimbursement sooner than 60 days from the Indentured Servant’s incurrence of any such expenses. The Indentured Servant shall be in default of this Agreement for any miscalculation (as determined by the Employer in her sole and absolute discretion) in requested reimbursements. Upon a demonstration of emergency conditions on the part of the Indentured Servant, the Employer may graciously agree to arrange for a hedge fund to extend a loan to the Indentured Servant at a rate of interest that will be dictated by the Employer, in her sole and absolute discretion, reflecting the Indentured Servant’s dismal credit rating. The amount of any such loan will be added to, and become part of, the Debt.

5. Lodging. As part of the Indentured Servant’s compensation, the Indentured Servant shall be provided with a room in the servants’ quarters in each of the locations of the Premises. The Indentured Servant will have no current rent obligations, but an amount of $2500 per month will be assessed to the account of the Indentured Servant each month and such amount will be added to, and become part of, the principal amount the Debt. The Indentured Servant’s leased room on the Premises will be subject to search and inspection by the Employer and her assigns at any time and under any circumstances deemed appropriate by the Employer and her assigns in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion. The Indentured Servant hereby waives any right to object to any such search or inspection, or to object to the Employer’s discovery of contraband, property of the Employer or illicit materials resulting from such a search or inspection.

6. Uniforms. The Indentured Servant will be provided with standard liveried uniforms for various occasions and appropriate for various functions, both relative to the Manhattan Premises and the Southampton Premises. The Indentured Servant will wear the uniform as directed by the Employer and her assigns on each day and the Indentured Servant will have absolutely no control or input over her attire. The Employer will provide the Indentured Servant with the clothes that the Indentured Servant will wear to Sunday Catholic Mass (as well as holy days of obligation) and will provide the Indentured Servant with all other non-uniform attire (deemed appropriate by the Employer in her sole and absolute discretion) to be worn off- Premises. The Indentured Servant will bear no current expenses for uniforms, clothing and dry cleaning thereof, but an amount of $1250 per month will be assessed to, and become part of, the principal amount of the Debt with regard to liveried uniforms, off-Premises clothing and cleaning thereof. The Indentured Servant will be responsible for being properly and immaculately dressed for each day of work in strict adherence to the Employer’s commands, subject to inspection by the Employer and her assigns, and will be in default of this Agreement if not properly attired as commanded. In the event that the Employer commands the Indentured Servant to work naked on a given day (to which order the Indentured Servant shall not object), the uniform charge will nonetheless apply for that calendar day. The Indentured Servant shall not be permitted to have any clothing (or toiletries or other personal property) other than that provided by the Employer and subject to the dominion and control of the Employer, pursuant to the terms of this Agreement.

7. Meals. The Indentured Servant will receive all meals as prepared by Redacted in haute Nicaraguan cuisine to be consumed in the servants’ kitchen at each of the Premises. The Indentured Servant shall have no right to store any snacks or foodstuffs in her assigned leased rooms on the Premises. The Indentured Servant will bear no current costs for meals, but an amount of $1000 per month will be assessed to, and become part of, the Debt for each month with regard to meals. Redacted may expect a gratuity for cooking, which the Indentured Servant will provide out of the Indentured Servant’s salary (which such gratuity shall not exceed $250 per month).

8. Time Cards; Hours; Payday. The Indentured Servant will prepare a time card for the preceding week, to be submitted no later than 6;00 AM on Monday morning  , listing a realistic accounting of the hours worked by the Indentured Servant, in the previous week. In preparing such time cards, the Indentured Servant should consider how much time an “efficient maid” would spend on such tasks, and the Indentured Servant shall self- reduce time accordingly. The Indentured Servant shall first submit her time card to Redacted for approval and, upon such approval and any reduction of time imposed by Redacted, the Indentured Servant’s time card shall be submitted to the Employer for her approval (and subject to reduction) in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion. The Indentured Servant will submit time cards and submit herself to the approval process even during the Probationary Period when the Indentured Servant is not being paid. Time WASTED by asking the Employer unnecessary questions will be deducted from time billed on an accelerated basis. The Indentured Servant shall work seven (7) days per week, but will be given time off to attend Catholic Mass at Redacted Church at 9:00 AM (the traditional servants’ mass) on Sunday morning (and on holy days of obligation). The Indentured Servant will also be given an hour off on the first Saturday afternoon of each month to attend confession with Father Samuel Redacted (or such other Catholic priest as the Employer may direct). Any paycheck that the Employer ultimately elects to provide to the Indentured Servant (in her sole and absolute discretion) will be received on the second and fourth Fridays of each month.

9. Probationary Period. For the first 120 days of the employment relationship reflected in this Agreement, the Indentured Servant shall receive no salary, as this will be a training period. The Indentured Servant shall pay no current “tuition” for this training, but an amount of $3000 per month during the Probationary Period will be assessed to the account of the Indentured Servant and will be added to, and become part of, the principal amount of the Debt. The Employer shall have no obligation to retain the Indentured Servant after the Probationary Period and any such decision to retain the Indentured Servant shall be made in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion. During the Probationary Period, Redacted Will be in the position of “mistress of the estate” over the Indentured Servant and will have all relevant rights and powers with regard to the Indentured Servant’s training. Redacted, Redacted and Redacted will act in a consulting role with regard to the Indentured Servant’s training and will have all corresponding rights. During the Probationary Period, this Agreement may be terminated at any time, for any reason, or no reason whatsoever, by the Employer, in her sole and absolute discretion, provided however, that the full $12,000 of tuition expenses will nonetheless be added to, and become part of, the Debt. All mistakes, transgressions and breaches of protocol in the course of service by the Indentured servant, as determined by the Employer in her sole and absolute discretion, will be subject to a penalty, including the penalty of the Indentured Servant being deemed in DEFAULT under this Agreement. The Indentured Servant will be “written up” for such violations and such signed write-ups may become part of the Indentured Servant’s permanent file. Each week during the Probationary Period, no later than Tuesday of each week, the Indentured Servant will prepare a self-criticism/evaluation, which will entail a detailed account of all the Indentured Servant’s mistakes, shortcomings and transgressions committed during the previous  week and will submit a petition for forgiveness for all such self -documented  mistakes, shortcomings and transgressions  to the Employer. In the event the Employer elects to employ the Indentured Servant after the Probationary Period, the Employer may elect to require the Indentured Servant to continue this weekly self -criticism and evaluation process. Such decision will be made in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion.

10. Personal Papers. The Indentured Servant will submit all of her actual identification papers, including, but not limited to, birth certificate, SSA card, passport, driver’s license, bank cards, credit and debit cards, insurance policis, 401K or other ERISA related retirement plans, professional certifications, diplomas, baptisimal certificate, marriage license,  and other vital documents to the Employer for safe keeping. Upon termination of this Agreement, the Employer will consider returning such documents, after consultation with her lawyers, but any decision regarding the return of such documents will be at the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion. The Employer will provide the Indentured servant with new identification cards, including, among other things, reflecting that the Indentured Servant is 51 year’s old and is on a temporary work visa from The Peoples Republic of China and providing that the Indentured Servant will be returned to China upon termination of this Agreement. As a standard precaution, the Indentured Servant shall confess to several felonious crimes involving theft of priceless jewelry and fine art to protect the Employer from the risks incurred in taking an illiterate peasant on to the Premises. All such confessions shall become part of the Indentured Servant’s permanent employment file and the Employer reserves the right to declare this Agreement in default on the basis of such confessions.

11. Protocals. The Indentured Servant shall be at all times functionally invisible and shall be “seen and not heard”. The Indentured Servant shall enter and exit the Premises through the servants’ entrance and shall use the servants’ staircase, restrooms, shower hose, and kitchen at all times. The Indentured Servant shall never make eye contact with the Employer and will avert her eyes at all times. The Indentured Servant will be addressed as “ayi”, “chinky” or “girl” or any other name the Employer may prescribe in her sole and absolute discretion. The Indentured Servant shall curtsy upon each days’ first sighting of a superior and shall genuflect on each encounter with the Employer. The Indentured Servant shall address the employer as “Mademoiselle , “Doctor” or “Signora Redacted” as situations may mandate. The Indentured Servant shall never address or refer to the Employer in the second or third person. In all correspondence, the Indentured Servant shall never capitalize the first letter of her name. The Indentured Servant shall fully comply with all direction regarding the alteration of her physical appearance as the Employer shall command in her sole and absolute discretion. The Indentured Servant shall scrub and polish all floors, including all floors of the Employer’s ballet studio, on her hands and knees with a saporia. Unless waived by the Employer, the Indentured Servant shall remain in chastity (and wear any device as commanded) for the term of this Agreement. For the duration of this Agreement, the Indentured Servant shall engage in no same or diverse gender dating and shall have no sexual relations whatsoever (same sex or otherwise) unless specifically permitted or commanded by the Employer.

12. Termination. This Agreement may be terminated at any time by either party. In the event that this Agreement is terminated by the Employer, the Indentured Servant shall return all clothing , toiletries,and personal property provided by the Employer and shall vacate the Premises, within three hours of termination, by the servants’ exit and only the principal amount of the Debt will be then due and payable. In the event that the Indentured Servant seeks to terminate the Agreement, the ENTIRE AMOUNT OF THE DEBT WITH INTEREST THEREON will be immediately due and payable and the Debt will bear interest at the default rate from inception as set forth in paragraph 3. Failure to pay this debt with interest at the default rate immediately will amount to a felony under applicable law (rendering the Indentured Servant subject to deportation), for which the Indentured Servant will be prosecuted criminally by all governmental authorities as well as sued civilly by the Employer, and all costs of enforcement will be added to, and become part of, the Debt. In any such legal proceeding, the Indentured Servant shall submit to the jurisdiction of any legal, quasi-legal or arbitration forum  of any kind or nature whatsoever as the Employer shall dictate,

13. Punishments. The Indentured Servant shall submit to and bear any punishments deemed necessary by the Employer in her sole and absolute discretion, including, but not limited to, public humiliation, ridicule before a wide audience, collar wearing, naked service, sleep deprivation, spanking, caning, cropping, whipping, imposing chastity/non-masturbation periods, cilice/hairshirt wearing,  fire branding, bondage, solitary dungeon confinement, sign wearing, protracted periods in a yoke or  in stocks and any such other methods that the Employer shall deign to impose. The Indentured Servant hereby certifies in advance that all such punishments will be fair and reasonable, necessary for her training and education, necessary to prevent impregnation and the transmission of disease, and for her own good and in her best interests as a maid.

14. Waivers. The Indentured Servant hereby knowingly and voluntarily waives any and all rights that may apply to the Indentured Servant under any applicable law, including, but not limited to, under the United States Constitution, The United Nations Charter of Human Rights, The Vatican Charter of Oppressed and Dispossessed Persons, The 13th and 14th Amendments to the United States Constitution, New York Employment Law, Federal Employment Law, INS/ICE Rules and Regulations, New York Sexual Harassment Laws, New York State and Federal Tort and Personal Injury Laws, New York City Employment Law, applicable Usury Laws and any law or regulation  of any kind or nature whatsoever, whether currently in effect or promulgated in the future. The Indentured Servant hereby agrees, confirms and ratifies that the Indentured Servant has no rights whatsoever and no recourse against the Employer under any circumstances. In the event that this Agreement is determined to be unenforceable or null and void, in any respect, by any court of law or administrative body, the Indentured Servant hereby agrees to be bound by all terms, and subject to all penalties, contained in this Agreement, notwithstanding any such court ruling.

15. Amendment. This Agreement may be amended by the Employer at any time in the Employer’s sole and absolute discretion and the Indentured Servant will sign any such binding and legally valid modification that the Employer may impose upon her.

16. Costs; Expenses. All costs and expenses (including legal fees) with regard to the preparation of this Agreement or any modification thereof shall be borne by the Indentured Servant and shall be added to, and become part of, the Debt.

17. Servicer. The Employer hereby appoints Redacted to act as “servicer” to supervise the Indentured Servant in the stead of the Employer when the Employer is otherwise occupied. The Indentured Servant will treat the Servicer with all the deference and respect accorded to the other superiors in the service of the Employer.

18. Parental Role. Given the Indentured Servant’s immaturity and inability to manage the burdens of adult life, the Employer shall maintain a role of guardianship “in loco parentis” over the Indentured Servant, and shall make all decisions, and will be in a position to grant all necessary permission, with respect to all major and minor decisions in the Indentured Servant’s life. In that regard, the Indentured Servant hereby consents to the Employer acting in the role of the Indentured Servant’s parent or guardian. The Employer shall dictate not only the Indentured Servant’s work life, but will also manage the Indentured Servant’s personal life in all respects, including , but not limited to, the Indentured Servant’s attire(both on and off the Premises), religious training and observance, sleep hours, relations with other persons, disposition of salary, methods of basic hygiene and spending of free time. To effectuate the foregoing, the Indentured Servant hereby agrees to submit to any and all reeducation or mind and thought control methods imposed by the Employer in her sole and absolute discretion.

19. Assignment. The Employer shall have the unfettered right to assign this Agreement, and to sell, assign, and convey the ownership of the Indentured Servant, in any manner and to any successor person, that she deems fit in her sole and absolute discretion and, upon such assignment, the Indentured Servant shall be the property of such assignee and beholden and indebted to such assignee in the same manner as the Indentured Servant is beholden to , indebted to and owned by the Employer pursuant to the terms of this Agreement. Any costs and expenses incurred by either of the Employer or such assignee in connection with such transfer of ownership of the Indentured Servant shall be borne by the Indentured Servant and any such amount will be added to, and become part of, the Debt.

20. Right to Loan Out . The Employer shall have, and hereby does have, the right to loan out the services of the Indentured Servant to any other person to the extent, on such terms and for as long as the Employer shall elect in her sole and absolute discretion. Upon such loan out, the Indentured Servant shall owe all duties owed to the Employer to such other person and shall be bound by all encumbrances and restrictions of this Agreement with respect to such person.

21. Representations of the Indentured Servant. The Indentured Servant hereby represents and warrants that 1) she has read this Agreement and understands all of the terms and conditions hereof and freely agrees, consents and promises to adhere to all the terms and conditions hereof, 2) she greatly appreciates that the Employer has taken the time to notice the Indentured Servant and has offered her a chance of employment, given the Indentured Servant’s weak will, poor education, deficiency of skills and shameful lack of discipline, 3) although she is intimidated by the Employer’s brilliance, accomplishments, record of philanthropy and scholarly and artistic  standing, the Indentured Servant is not agreeing to the terms of this Agreement under duress, 4) given her lifetime record of humiliating failure and of making poor decisions, she is unworthy of a position as the most lowly servant on the Premises and understands that this Agreement is being extended to her out of charity, 5) she was offered the opportunity to have a lawyer to  review this Agreement on her behalf and has waived that opportunity, and 6) to indicate her assent and submission to the terms of this Agreement, she will initial each page of this Agreement as well as affixing her signature to the signature page hereto. The Indentured Servant also understands and acknowledges that representatives of the Asian American Defense, Education League & Fund (“AADELF”) (of which the Employer is on the Advisory Board) has reviewed this Agreement and has found all of the terms to be fair and reasonable and the AADELF has issued a proclamation commending the Employer for considering the retention of the Indentured Servant as a maid.

22. Interpretation of Agreement. Any misunderstandings in the interpretation of this Agreement or any ambiguities contained in this Agreement shall be strictly construed in favor of the Employer and strictly against the Indentured Servant. The Indentured Servant hereby confirms that all legal conclusions regarding the application of this Agreement and the terms of the Indentured Servant’s ownership and servitude generally shall be as dictated by the Employer and the Employer’s attorneys, accountants and financial advisors. The Indentured Servant hereby agrees that, as “property” /” debtor subject to indenture” under applicable law, the Indentured Servant shall have no standing to file a police report or testify in a court of law.

Upon finding these terms acceptable, the Indentured Servant shall affix her signature on the signature block below to indicate her consent to all of the foregoing terms.
