I dunno, you write a couple of drafts of something, you go over it again as you paste it over into photoshop, you give it another read before emailing it off, but the first time you look over it after it's been posted you notice a huge typing error. Typical...
Yes, the first caption is inventive, but I think it needs a sharper sting. What if poor Fiona's mother had been a maid, and she went to Hollywood specifically to escape that fate? True, she really acting, but she's wearing a maid's uniform, playing the role of a maid, obliged to persuade the audience that she is a maid, so every moment she's on camera in her uniform, she experiences a terrible sense of humiliation and failure. Especially since Hollywood is so well-known for how actors get typecast....
I suppose a "sharper sting" could be good, but the background you suggest would negate the effort Fiona put into climbing the acting teirs, and the joy she would have had in getting her first staring role.
No, I don't think it would Vessa. Breaking into acting is difficult. She would be elated to have a role in a major show even if she was a maid. It would only begin to eat at her later as she becomes typecast and relegated to the background.
Thank you very much. It is always a sunday´s highlight.
ReplyDeleteI really like the thirdi caption
