Dear readers, I need your advice please. You might have noticed that I've recently set up a Twitter account @CamilleLangtry - you can see the feed on the blog's right sidebar. I am still very new to this platform, still learning the basics, and would really appreciate any suggestions from those already established there as to who's worth following.
Are there any transformation-fiction related accounts that you know? Dear Emma Finn was there, but I am not aware of any other author of the genre with an active Twitter. Are there any transformation/downgrade/maid etc. groups that you know and follow? Perhaps I am not looking right, but I've been unable to locate that much... So, if you've got ideas, please share them here or drop me a line. I would really appreciate your help. And don't forget to follow me, of course. I am planning to use my Twitter for random pictures, thoughts, links and announcements.
Twitter is a little fickle, I've had an account since 2011 and still only have 81 followers, it's a long process unless you're a "celeb" of media "whore" :-o

In my experience, social media is cool but it doesn't replace the old-fashioned way of direct outreach to readers and writers. I have enjoyed a fantastic e-mail correspondence with some of my readers, and other writers such as Garth Toyntanen and even Barefoot Servant.
ReplyDeletePatreon has been an excellent resource as well, although I would hate to see this blog go the pay-to-play route. I know, it's hypocritical of me: "Patreon is good for me but not for thee." In any case, it does allow me to identify my most energized readers and to tailor things to their preferences. It has also sped up by writing process, which I think everyone benefits from.
Thanks, I am no huge fan of social media too, although I do think that after a certain point it becomes indispensable if you know how to use it effectively. I don't think Patreon is for me because I don't want to feel under pressure to deliver to my paid subsribers.
