Caption: Going Down the Social Ladder

-- What yer lookin' at? Nothin' to see 'ere, this ain't no circus!

Talking like an unrefined working class woman was now second nature to former Lady Margaret - now simply Maggie.  Although she has accepted her new station in life - that of a household servant at the beck and call of her betters - she still hated it when she was forced to scrub the entrance stairway - especially when the neighborhood boys were playing outside, throwing dirt and little rocks at her, as if she was solely there for their entertainment.

It all started innocently enough, when Margaret struck a deal with her maid Sarah to swap roles for a day just for fun. It soon became her obsession though as she was sinking deeper and deeper into her maid persona, begging Sarah to act out the role of a strict mistress for her. They even moved to a different town to make their game more real.

Sarah didn't like any of it, but soon realized it was her chance in life. If her mistress loved being a maid so much,  why not make her dream come true? As long as she gave up her old life and gave her wealth to Sarah, who would then hire her as a maid. Sarah was certain that Margaret would never agree to such a deal, but she did! And here she was, dressed in her uniform, rubbing the stairway of her lady's house.

  2. A similar theme to "Susan's procedure," works really well, it's good to see the maids out on top ;-)

    1. Yes, that was a great story, even though "Susan's Procedure" probably went too far, requiring significant suspension of disbelief on the readers' part.

  3. I quite agree, The Changing Mirror have a couple of others with a similar theme but where the "victim" is aware of their fall which is much better, Susan, because of her memory loss doesn't which spoils the story a little.

    1. Indeed. Memory loss or mind control in general tend to spoil stories for me. I prefer when the changes are self-inflicted because of circumstances or due to obsession, while the character is fully aware of what is going on. I also like when the changes are gradual. Sadly, the bulk of transformation fiction is the opposite of what I prefer - too quick with the character completely forgetting past life.

    2. I enjoy AB stories and have written a couple, they aren't very good :-( and my main complaint apart from the lack of proofreading on Amazon is the rapid change from adult to baby, I appreciate that one needs to suspend belief in many stories but there needs to an element of "truth" to make it work, well in my view lol

    3. I can't agree more. My favorite stories all have strong realistic elements to them, whether it is believable motivations or truthful settings and situations. Although I see no problem with magic or science fiction elements in transformation fiction, it is way too often that they completely substitute character and plot development.

  4. This is an enticing premise. Love a story when a high society woman is shown her place. Has anyone read "Trophy Maid"? It looks like it might have a similar theme.

    1. Thanks for the tip, "Trophy Maid" does look as if it was commissioned for this blog. Something to read over the weekend, already purchased it on Amazon!

    2. "Trophy Maid" was predictable but the fall of Elizabeth Bennington to Mimi Soubrette and her final humiliation was delicious. Thank you for the suggestion

    3. Yes, unlike a lot of stories on the Amazon "Trophy maid" was definitely worth its $2.99 price tag. I liked it a lot and will definitely be following the author from now on. I would have done a few things differently and I think some wonderful plot lines remained largely underdeveloped, but all and all it's good addition to my lady-to-maid library.

  5. I looked at some of her others but I have to been in the mood for sissy stories, this type of humiliation is much more enjoyable.

  6. Yes, maid transformation stories need to retain some element of realism to them to make them work for me. Very few men can look believable as maids so the male maid stories require a huge amount of suspension of disbelief to make them fully enjoyable, at least for me. Monica Graz stories are an exception.

  7. It probably sounds sexist but I agree, I hate to see men dressed as woman who aren't able to carry it off, I like the dressing up but as I won't shave my beard off I don't do it now lol We went to Erotica a few years ago and there was a chap dressed as a maid, jealous or what, "he" looked great.

  8. I love _consensual_ self humiliation. Even more, I love when the new maid is free to undo the reversal, but the obsession/fantasy is so strong that she can't bear to do it, even though she hates some aspects of it!

    2. Yes - it should never be anything than completely consensual. Even when they are being 'tricked', they should be willing victims really trying to discover their true nature.

  9. I do hope someone writes a story fleshing out this premise at some point in the future.

  11. Love the caption to the picture. One area that does not really get covered on this excellent site is how the former Ladies adapt to losing their wealth. Must be a shock when weekly wages only cover cost of a new pair of stockings and some broken biscuits.
